Manitoba-based Pollard Banknote has most currently praised its long-term partner, the Idaho Lottery in the U.S. on a record-setting fiscal year in 2023. The lottery reported an all-time high in revenues of US$422 million, providing approximately US$82 million to support public education and the State’s Permanent Building Fund. The two have been partners since 2013.
Pollard Banknote is a premier lottery partner to more than 60 lotteries. It is prominent for its top-quality instant ticket products, licensed games, in-lane ticket options, and sales-driving merchandising solutions from its Schafer Retail Solutions + portfolio. The company is the primary provider of Scratch Tickets for the lottery and has helped it diversify its portfolio of products.
Extending Praise to its U.S. Partner
In its record-breaking FY, Idaho Lottery had a number of highlights including the premier of The Big Spin, which offered players a captivating experience with several ways of winning up to US$125,000. The game launched three times and was among the agency’s top performers, recording sales 68% better than all other games valued at US$5 and launched after 2020.
Additionally, in FY 2023, the lottery became the first one in the U.S. to debut a game printed on Pollard’s new digital press with the multi-scene, Valentine’s Day-themed Sweethearts. The provider’s digital press enabled each ticket to include one of the 20 different sayings taken from the classic candy ranging from “Be Mine all the way through “Cutie Pie.”
That is not all, as in 2023, the lottery also launched its Limited series which first premiered in 2017 after Pollard recommended the introduction of an exclusive prize-level game, for the 12th time. The success of the series made it a regular thing on IL’s scratch ticket library. Also, the FY saw the launch of two new scratch games, Max-A-Million and Big Money.
The lottery also worked with the supplier to rejuvenate and relaunch its Bonus Play Cashword 2nd chance program, by adding a new bonus game and expanding the program to include all Cashword tickets. The revamped program provided a triple-digit increase in app and website traffic, ticket entries, and games played, pushing its player engagement to a whole new level.
Busy in 2023
So far, Pollard Banknote has been keeping itself busy as it announced some important deals and milestones. In March 2023, the Canadian lottery provider struck an accord avec Premier Lotteries Ireland. As per the deal, its subsidiary mkodo agreed to update and optimize the lottery’s current website to provide bolstered user experience.
Prior to the Premier Lotteries Ireland partnership, the lottery supplier also announced that it had been awarded a contract extension by the North Carolina Education Lottery. As per the deal, the provider delivered its digital support and related services to the lottery. It will run until October 31, 2025, and there’s an option to be extended in one-year increments for up to three additional years.
